Pankaj Dharkar, the Founder-President of PDA who is constantly striving for innovative solutions from his strong and talented team,inherited leadership skills from his legendary father Late Shri Rajendra Dharkar whose entire life was dedicated towards selfless service to the society. His modest family backgroundinstigated the values of Commitment, Honesty, Integrity and Hard Work from his early days. Graduating from Mechanical Engineering Department in 1980 with specialization in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from a reputed institute in Indore was like taking first step towards reaching the goal.

Undertaking well defined authority, he distinguished himself with his first assignment at Voltas Ltd as a Project Engineer and served dedicatedly for nine years. He then accepted the challenge of reinventing Dikshit Consultants and Engineers Pvt. Ltd, a consultancy firm and taking the organization to new highs. His grit and determination helped the organization to achieve success during seventeen years of his association.

He oversaw the creation of his own Consultancy Firm in the field of providing complete MEP Design Solutions initially and later expanded his horizons to Green Building Certifications. He excelled in his skills of energy efficient design approach to provide best possible level of professional services to meet demands of clients. Having a mindset that emphasized technological research and development, he soon established himself with a long and successful track record of innovative engineering designs.

During his rich experience of nearly four decades he has successfully designed and coordinated more than 3300 projects as diverse as Healthcare facilities & Pharmaceuticals clean rooms to Educational institutes, Hospitality Industry to Commercial offices and Shopping Malls, Software/IT Parks to Diamond Processing Units, Residential Townships to Mega Tall Buildings. Pankaj Dharkar has to his credit the successful designing of the first Net Zero Energy Lab Building Project at CEPT, Ahmedabad in India which was developed with support of USAID/ECO-III.

Being an active and dynamic leader, he has served on the board of several engineering societies as President, Secretary, Regional Director, Trustee, Co-Convener, Chairman, Organizer etc He has been associated with School of Building Science and Technology (CEPT) at Ahmedabad, as a visiting faculty.

He is at present the Voting Member of ASHRAE Tall Building Committee TC 9.12 and also was the Nominating Committee Member for six years for selecting ASHRAE Global Leadership. He has been the Past President of ASHRAE Western India Chapter & Past National President of ISHRAE. He is currently the National President of FSAI-Fire and Security Association of India, after presidentship of Gujarat Chapter. He is a member of several other technical societies like IGBC, IPA, AIACRA, NFPA and IAQA.

His dedication to society work has taken him far and wide not only in India but all over the world for organizing and participating either as a speaker or panelist or coordinator during Expositions, Conferences, Meetings & Seminars including ACREX, COMFEX, CONFLUENCE, TECHFEST, RACON, PACC, IFSY, JAL-VAYU-AGNI, FSIE, ACRECONF, CRC etc. His latest achievements include being awarded with the prestigious ASHRAE Fellowship and IGBC Fellowship for providing exemplary services.
